Path of Liberty: That Which Unites Us is an immersive audiovisual exhibit, currently installed at Freedom Plaza NYC (near the United Nations). This unique production, directed by Daniella Vale, showcases portraits and interviews with a diverse range of American’s reflecting on the ideals that unite us, and the work that we can all do to make good on the American Promise.
VPC composed a 7-minute long symphony for the central plaza of the exhibit, where 8 screens surround the viewer with video of the diversity of the American landscape and its people. The score seeks to express this diversity through a range of instruments and sounds across musical traditions, and is intended to leave the viewer feeling both the vastness of both the landscape and American ideals, while also providing intimate moments that underscore humanity of the individuals shown.
Interview audio throughout the show is interspersed with VPC’s drone tones for a meditative experience.
